		<description>Oooh, good choice! I thought about writing up this article too, I&#039;m glad someone did it.  I have to go back and re read it myself though - I remembered his &#039;big ideas&#039; but didn&#039;t remember the details of his examples, very interesting.

Have you read Walter Taylor&#039;s &#039;A Study of Archaeology&#039;?  I&#039;ve always been taught that Binford is basically using Taylor&#039;s ideas, but while Taylor got shunned for his book, Binford got praised for his article (mainly, I assume, because he didn&#039;t cite specific archaeologists and say they were doing things wrong).  I own it, but haven&#039;t read it yet - so many classics I never find time for...</description>
