I just thought I'd mention that Futurama made a play on Cylons, where, at a benefit concert for broken robots, "Cylon and Garfunkel" performed "Scarborough Fair." The Cylon plays guitar, and monotones the "parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme" part.

When the check is presented to the concert's organizer (Bender) by Cylon and Garfunkel, near the end of the concert, the Cylon proclaims in that harsh, metallic voice: "It's been an emotional day for me..."

Apologies for my rambling on, if you've seen that episode, which you likely have.

BTW, I clearly remember watching the original Battlestar Galactica pilot, many years ago - my parents had to drive to pick up someone at the aiport, so my brother and I were left alone at home feeling very adult and making the old-style Jiffy pop on the stove, kicking back and watching Battlestar Galactica. I was already a science nerd, so I tended to pick apart the unscientific aspects, to the annoyance of my kid brother. I've since learned to suspend disbelief enough to enjoy SF movies and connect with the deeper story, rather than focusing on the physics.
